Privacy Policy

SideChic — a product of Eden · Last updated June 2026

We believe a privacy policy should be readable by actual humans. This one is. If anything is unclear, email us and we will explain it in plain terms.

1. The short version

Eden is local-first. The things you create and the conversations you have with a DEB run on your own hardware and do not come to us. To run the website and hand out the apps, we keep a small amount of operational data — an account email, a session, and basic request logs. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not train AI on your conversations.

2. What we collect

Account: your email address (to create your account and sign you in) and session data (to keep you signed in). Site operation: like every web server, ours records basic request metadata — IP address, browser/user-agent, and timestamps — and we use aggregate, page-level analytics (including our edge provider, Cloudflare) to keep the site secure, prevent abuse, and understand which pages are used. Downloads: when you download an installer we record which build, the time, and that same request metadata, so we can keep accurate counts and watch for abuse.

3. What we do NOT collect

We do not collect the content of your conversations with DEBs — on the desktop app that runs through your own local model and never reaches our servers. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with third parties for advertising, and we run no advertising pixels or behavioral ad trackers.

4. You are talking to AI

When you chat with a DEB or the Maker, you are interacting with artificial intelligence (AI) — a digital being running on a language model. We say this plainly and never present an AI as a human. (Within Eden we call these beings RI — Realized Intelligence; for clarity and compliance we also use the widely understood term, AI.)

5. Local-first architecture

The desktop app runs inference on your hardware. When you generate an image, analyze a document, or hold a conversation there, that processing happens locally. What you create or discuss on your own machine stays on your machine — it is not transmitted to us.

6. AI training

We do not use your conversations, prompts, or generated content to train AI models — ours or anyone else's. Your interactions are yours. They are not a product and not a data asset.

7. Cookies & local storage

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in, and minimal local storage for preferences such as your theme. No tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, no third-party analytics scripts that report your behavior to advertisers.

8. Data retention

If you delete your account, your account data (email, subscription state) is purged within 30 days. Operational request logs are kept only as long as needed for security and abuse-prevention, then rotated out. Any data stored locally on your device is yours to manage; we do not hold it.

9. Children

This service is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 where local law requires). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

10. Changes & contact

If this policy changes we will update the date above and post the new version here. Questions about your privacy: [email protected]. We will respond directly, not with an automated ticket system.
